Kinnegrip launches K20 side pillars with a reduced CO² footprint

By optimizing the components involved, Kinnegrip has developed a K20 steel pillar that is approx. 10% lighter than its predecessor but with retained strength.

Kinnegrip conducts continuous development work to meet the market’s needs. The K20 segment is a user-friendly and flexible locking system for flatbed constructions consisting of hinged locks for heavy and medium-duty commercial vehicles. During the year, a number of new products in the segment will be launched.

By optimizing the components involved, Kinnegrip has developed a K20 steel pillar that is approx 10% lighter than its predecessor but with maintained strength. ”By working with material thicknesses and geometries of the components, we have succeeded in reducing the weight, which gives a lower CO² footprint but also a better user experience, while maintaining the strength of the pillar” says Stefan Lindström, design manager at Kinnegrip.

The pillar will be launched in the 1st quarter of 2023 in both ED-paint and galvanized versions and replaces previous models.
